Buyer (Remote Position)

Description

We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Buyer in the Healthcare/NHS industry. This role is based in Charleston, South Carolina, 29407, United States and can be remote if situated in the eastern time zone. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for acquiring materials, supplies, and services under the most favorable conditions. This role involves vendor qualification, bid evaluation, price and term negotiation, purchase tracking, vendor quality monitoring, and vendor information database maintenance.

Responsibilities:
• Procuring materials, supplies, and services at favorable terms
• Qualifying vendors to ensure they meet the organization's standards
• Evaluating bids from various suppliers and vendors
• Negotiating prices and terms with vendors for purchased goods and services
• Tracking purchases to ensure timely delivery and proper invoicing
• Monitoring vendor quality to ensure they meet the organization's standards
• Maintaining an up-to-date database of vendor information
• Utilizing procurement software and tools efficiently for daily tasks
• Applying strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve procurement issues
• Leveraging knowledge of the healthcare industry to make informed purchasing decisions.


Requirements


• Ability to perform accounting functions effectively

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Comprehensive understanding of buying processes

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Experience with indirect procurement processes

• Ability to procure goods and services efficiently

• Experience with procure-to-pay systems

• Skilled in various procurement activities

• Experience using procurement card systems

• Understanding of procurement functions within the healthcare industry

• Prior experience as a buyer is preferred

• Proficiency in using Workday software

• Experience with Workday ERP systems

• Familiarity with the healthcare industry
