Background Check Analyst (Remote Position)

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Background Check Analyst in our non-profit organization. This role is significant to our Veteran Directed Care program and requires a mix of technical and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be tasked with reviewing background history reports and making determinations based on set criteria.


Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze background history reports based on established criteria.

• Make determinations on whether individuals pass the set criteria.

• Communicate the results of the background history checks to the concerned veterans.

• Utilize HireRight software and Microsoft Word for drafting letters and maintaining records.

• Decipher out-of-state criminal codes in addition to Virginia.

• Manage and monitor the caseload, ensuring efficient processing of background checks.

• Maintain a high level of customer service when interacting with veterans.

• Keep accurate records of all customer interactions.

• Assist veterans in hiring their own caregivers, ensuring they can remain at home.

• Stay updated on VA rules regarding caregiver employment and background checks.


Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or related field
• Proficiency in conducting comprehensive background checks
• Experience in a legal assistant role is preferred
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word
• Familiarity with CRM systems
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data
• Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
