Project Manager/Sr. Consultant (Remote Position)

Description

We are seeking a Project Manager/Sr. Consultant to join our team in the insurance industry, located in Chicago, Illinois. This role will involve managing multiple projects and coordinating with various teams, including the IT team. The Project Manager will be working on initiatives for federal employee programs, handling data management with business and IT teams, and overseeing all IT work associated with the projects. This role is 100% remote and offers a short term contract employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:


• Take charge of the management of multiple projects, ensuring each one is on track and meeting its set objectives.

• Coordinate with the federal employee program on a large initiative called member transition, involving changes to insurance offerings for postal and non-postal employees.

• Work with business and IT teams to manage data, specifically in relation to HEDIS (healthcare effectiveness data and information set) measures.

• Oversee all IT-related tasks associated with the projects, including planning and system changes.

• Collaborate with the program director and IT team to ensure effective execution of projects.

• Handle projects more on the Applications side, ensuring all application-related tasks are completed efficiently.

• Utilize skills in Project Management, Health Insurance Industry, and Agile methodologies to effectively manage projects and teams.

• Adapt quickly to the context of the work, understanding the dynamics of working with different people and larger organizations.

• Apply a basic understanding of the healthcare industry and Agile methodologies to the management of the projects


Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Project Manager or Senior Consultant in a CPA firm or Business Management environment.
• Demonstrated experience in the PMO - Project Management Office.
• Proficient in all aspects of Project Management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects.
• Knowledge of the Health Insurance Industry is desirable.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in project management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in project management software and other related IT skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion, meeting all deadlines and objectives.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
